Savage Model 10 50th Anniversary Edition Build
For this vintage build we decided to celebrate an anniversary edition of the timeless Savage model 10. I don’t always fall in love with anniversary or commemorative edition rifles, but when I do, they look like this.
We started with a new in box Savage model 10 Anniversary edition in .300 Savage. The rifle’s classic design is complemented with a nicely figured walnut stock with rubbed oil finish, a jeweled bolt and beautiful 24 carat gold accents. Matching a scope and rings to this design is not easy. To make it feel like it was all put together purposefully, we decided to continue the gold accents through the build with a set of beautiful vintage Burris sunburst rings.
For the scope, of course we had to employ a Leupold with its already made to match gold accents. A vari-x III in 3x8x.
The result is a rifle that you could certainly hunt with, but for the Savage fan, it might just be better suited to hang on the wall in the den. Perhaps right beside that old beat up one….
