Weaver 60B Modern Glass Is Here!

After a very long testing, creation, and re-testing period, Vintage Gun Scopes is proud to announce the availability of modern glass for all K4-60B, K2.5-60B and K3-60B’s for in stock immediate delivery.

The 60B series was unique in that it was the first constantly centered reticle scope to be invented; an invention that all scopes today still utilize. However, since the 60B was made from 1956 to 1965 (prior to the advent of plastic internals which continues to this day with virtually all scopes) it provides a long term durability that cannot be matched today with any scope on the market since every single internal component was manufactured with metal parts.

The 60Bs one-piece blued steel tube construction, centered reticle, click adjustments, exceptional sealing with neoprene ring gaskets, and all metal internal components made it one of the best scopes ever for practical usefulness, accuracy, and long term durability. The only weakness of the 60B upon its invention was its glass. As far as scopes go it was average glass quality and had a propensity to delaminate. Virtually every 60B series scope that we see through the shop has glass delamination today. We have fixed the only weakness in the scope that Weaver originally made. It will be one of the few to still be in service and serviceable 100 years from now and with the extreme clarity of the modern glass you are giving up nothing by using a vintage scope of 2.5x, 3x, or 4x and still gaining the accuracy and long term durability of a design that was concepted when these scopes were actually all metal, inside and out. Also for those of you that like the higher powers, the 6x 8x and 10x versions are also in process.

This announcement means that all K2.5-60B, K3-60B and K4-60B restored scopes and re-glassed scopes will be in stock for immediate delivery. Customer scope re-glass services and restorations also will be accomplished with this new modern glass.
